How To Deal With Fear of Rejection When It Comes To Dates

Share

Dating is a fun activity that will help a couple get to know each other before they enter a special relationship.  However, many men (and sometimes, even women) experience some fear when it comes to dating.  The fear of rejection is one of the reasons that some men and women are anxious about asking or going to a date.

It is understandable why many are afraid of rejection.  Rejection can wound our ego and can affect our future decisions.  However, we should not let this fear paralyze us from getting to know interesting people.

Be sure to read the right signals

Sometimes, the man is almost certain that a woman also likes him because of the attention that she is giving to him.  But once he asks her out, he finds out that her intentions are merely friendly and nothing more.  In order to prevent being rejected for this reason, dedicate some time to read the woman’s words and actions before you make your move.  Saving yourself from rejection from one woman will boost your confidence to approach the right woman.

Be confident

Your confidence can go a long way.  A man who lacks confidence is less attractive than a man who is oozing with it.  Confidence is a charm that will help you get more success in dating.  It works two ways.  By being confident, you get a chance in meeting the woman that caught your eye.  And by being confident, you can boost your attractiveness to this woman.

By fearing being rejected when asking a woman out, you are somehow attracting the situation to occur.  Women are easily turned off by men who lack confidence.  Since confidence is not something that can be turned on as quickly as you would with a light bulb, you can boost your confidence by participating in conversations with various people.  Sooner or later, you will muster enough confidence to get closer to the woman of your dreams.

Prepare for the conversation

To overcome the fear of rejection, prepare how you would want to speak with the woman.  Determine how you can subtly play up your skills and achievements without sounding arrogant and too proud.  By knowing what to talk about, you will forget your fear of being rejected.

If you do these and you still get rejected, remember that there are still other women out there.  By learning from your mistakes, you will gain confidence from each experience until you meet the right woman for you.
