How to Deal with Annoying Suitors
They say that having annoying suitors is the price to pay for being beautiful. But joking aside, having suitors who don’t know how to quit can really get on one’s nerves. These people can be disruptive and even dangerous should it develop to stalking and violence. There are two ways to deal with this, either through passive or active methods.
Just ignore
Ignoring the suitor is certainly one of your options. Especially when you made it clear that you’re not interested, then just being oblivious to their actions can sometimes get the message across. If the suitor still possesses some form of reason or self-respect, then there’s a good chance that he will get the hint. Another passive way of letting the guy down is through common friends. There’s also a chance that a third party can get through to him and let him know that it just won’t work with the two of you.
Saying no
Another means of dealing with annoying suitors is to say no effectively. Though you might make it clear that you’re not into him, it doesn’t hurt to say “no” again. The best way to say no is to be upfront, civil and straightforward about it. Though it can be a bit difficult, but you have to do it. You should lay out all the reasons why it won’t work in calm and rational manner. It also pays to be direct and blunt, but try to do so in a positive way that won’t hurt the other’s feelings. You don’t want to complicate things further or cause a scene. What you want is an amicable resolution to the current issue.
Call the authorities
This will be your last option. You can call 911, your home’s security, or some other authority should the suitor resort to threats and stalking. You can also contact your local mental health official for advice as stalkers and persistent suitors might be suffering from delusion so ask for the best way to deal with the person.
Though it can be flattering to have a guy that can’t get over you, it can also be annoying. But you shouldn’t feel powerless as there are several ways to deal with the situation. Just be sure to keel a level head at all times and always remember that you have several ways to resolve the problem. You may be an annoying suitor’s victim, but you don’t need to act like one.
