How to Deal with House Flies
Beware of house flies. These household pests are actually suspected of transmitting not less than 65 diseases to humans. This is not so surprising given that house flies are fond of visiting garbage, feeding on fecal matters, liquids from wounds, and other wastes and dirty matters. House flies can’t chew. Instead, they turn solid food into liquid first. Their saliva actually contains substance that liquefies solid food.
What are some diseases transmitted by house flies
Because house flies love waste and other decaying matters (these matters actually serve as their food and breeding places), they become carriers of bacteria, virus, fungi, protozoa, and other pathogens. Among the diseases carried by house flies are yaws, typhoid fever, dysentery, cholera, trachoma, diarrhea, shigellogis, tuberculosis, anthrax, food poisoning, opthalmial, and parasitic worms.
How to deal with house flies
Vigilant sanitation is the number one step in preventing the infestations of house flies. It is necessary to make sure that the garbage is disposed properly. It is also very important that you keep your food covered all the time. To get rid of flies, get an apple and put cloves all over it. You can insert the cloves on the apple; flies just simply hate the smell of clove. You can also use house fly traps to eliminate them. You can buy these from the market. Fly repellent chemical sprays are also effective. Just make sure that you read the labels carefully before you use them.
Some people think that houseflies are the least dangerous among house pests. This is actually the opposite. These pests carry pathogens that can seriously harm your family. This is why you have to get rid of them before they contaminate your food and other stuff you often use at home. As much as possible, use natural methods in getting rid of flies. Although pesticides are effective, improper use of them can cause more harm to humans than house flies.
