The problem in the world of employment today isn't really quite about the age but the physical appearance or how good the person looks most especially if the less attractive have the same qualities in work with the more attractive ones. Come to think of it, because of the tight competition in employment, most of the people (and this applies mainly to females) invest more on beauty products and plastic surgeries just to maintain themselves on the payroll. This just explain that ethics can't formulate a law with that, obviously. I mean, they just made this age discrimination law as an excuse to the very core of the "real standards" which is the LOOKS. At the end of the day, they lawmakers can't provide a less unethical way to author a law for the not-so-attractive-because-they've-physically-expired. I just hope not all companies are like these and wish that they should focus more on the reliability and trustworthiness of the workforce and not the freshness.

I just have noticed that lots of companies are discriminating employees who have a years of age from 30 and up. Companies, nowadays usually hired 18 to 26 years of age, from that age limit you will noticed that there's already a discrimination. They wouldn't hire people who are exceed from that age limit but sometimes they hired older ones but not in a good work position. Usually older employees are hired more on janitorial job and not in the office. Some companies don't promote older employees because younger employees are more capable in achieving the mission and vision of the company. Younger employees are more physically fit than older employees so companies discriminate older.Companies must be fair to everyone. They should follow the working standards and rules and regulations. In promoting employees, they should follow the standard criteria on promoting employees, don't judge the age of the candidates for promotion, judge the skills , the working performance, attendance of the employee and not the age which is not really fair.

Nowadays, a lot of companies prefer hiring nad promoting employees who are younger, usually in the age bracket of 18-27 primarily because it is believed that young people have more fresh ideas that they could contribute to company compared to the older ones. For me I think old and young should both be given equal rights to a job they prefer or to a promotion they have been working hard for in so many years. It is true that young employees are better suited for say a managerial job for they could come up with fresh ideas but that doesn't mean that older employees don't especially when they have been with the company for a couple of years and most likely they already know the twists and turns of that particular business. Its not always good to throw out the old and bring in the new because everything in this world is a cycle it always comes and goes and comes back again.
