The problem is it takes a doctorate degree to pursue such careers. Because some jobs are more in demand or are recession-proof, many people make career shifts especially during hard times.

During a recession, the best option for people when they become unemployed or laid off is to consider a career shift. It may be painfully difficult especially for those who have been working for the same job for a long time, having established a career and a highly rewarding job, only to be laid off. However, anyone suffering from the effects of recession should immediately grab a job that lands his or her way. Recession has brought about a stiffer competition among the workforce, and so you really have to give your best during the application to land a new career. Fortunately, there are many more flexible career options that may help you regain your financial freedom during a recession. These include education, healthcare, and government jobs.

There is always shortage of teachers despite the economic downturn. There will always be a high demand for teachers for the simple reason that each year, there are more and more kids going to school and so more and more teachers are needed. Although teaching is a career that does not pay so high, people still choose to pursue teaching because they feel that this career gives a sense of fulfillment. As such, having a healthcare job is definitely a wise move during a recession.
Government jobs
Another top career shift you may take during this economic crisis is that of working for the government. It can be a very good choice because most stable jobs can be found in the federal government industry. Remember, it is impossible for the government to cease their operations. It is only when the workers retire or resign from working at the federal government that an employee’s job ends. And also, government services tend to pace up in times of recession, so your chances of getting laid off is next to impossible. With these various career shifts you can choose from, surely it will not be as difficult to find a job that will help you you during these times of economic depression.
